New Zodiac Sign?

Astrological Changes For 2011, Ophiuchus Is New Zodiac Sign

By James Lane
In 2006 the International Astronomical Union (IAU) declassified Pluto as a planet since its mass was only 0.07 times that of the mass of the other objects in its orbit (Earth’s mass, by contrast, is 1.7 million times the remaining mass in its own orbit).
Now I wake up this morning to find out that some frozen eggheads in Minnesota are claiming that I’m no longer a Taurus, but an Aries. James is getting angry now!
Long story short, according to Minnesota Planetarium Society board member Parke Kunkle the signs of the zodiac have changed because the gravitational force of the Moon has managed to tilt the planet’s axis a bit since the Babylonians determined the dates of the Zodiac five thousand years ago.
It is also learned that not only the way you read horoscope has changed, and they claim to have also discovered that there may be a 13th Zodiac sign called Ophiuchus.
However, Parke Kunkle’s discovery only addresses sidereal zodiac, that is based on constellations. Therefore this change only concerns people in the East. Westerners adhere to tropical zodiac that is fixed to seasons (equinox to equinox). In conclusion, your zodiac sign has not changed.
Yeah, it’s all pretty confusing (the reason for my sub-headline on this article).
For your reference, the following is the list of proposed changes based on yesterday’s findings:
Capricorn: Jan. 20 – Feb. 16
Aquarius: Feb. 16 – March 11
Pisces: March 11- April 18
Aries: April 18 – May 13
Taurus: May 13 – June 21
Gemini: June 21 – July 20
Cancer: July 20 – Aug. 10
Leo: Aug. 10 – Sept. 16
Virgo: Sept. 16 – Oct. 30
Libra: Oct. 30 – Nov. 23
Scorpio: Nov. 23 – Nov. 29
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29 – Dec. 17
Sagittarius: Dec. 17 – Jan. 20

SLU LHS: My Home

Saint Louis University Laboratory High School (SLU LHS), it is one of the exclusive school for boys back before until it became coed and the last batch of the pure boys was the batch of M6M, how did  I knew it? It is because my brother, a nurse now, is one of the last batch of boys in Saint Louis University Laboratory High School or known as Boy’s high. Another reason is because I study in SLU LHS, yes, I am studying at LHS and now currently a third year high school and I belong to the science section of our batch. They often tell us that we are the cream of the crop of our batch because the science section of our batch has only nineteen students and I am indeed proud to be one of the nineteen students that belong to the science section of our batch. I think that we are the only science section that has the least number of students in class and we hope that when we reach fourth year, we will still be nineteen.
In our school there are various types of students, there are the so called “gangsters”, the smart ones, the populars, the rich, the dependents, and the sports players that are sometimes to be liked by many girls in the campus. Even though we have these types of students in our school, we the LHS family is still united. The school also have different clubs to join for some extra co-curricular points that can help a student have a high rank in the overall. The students is led by the SANAMA or also called the student’s council. Every year, we elect our executive officers and our year level officers that will help in improving the lives of each student in the school. This election is always held during the second month after a new school year had started. Some candidates just makes many promises but they do not do their promise while the others are sincere in doing what they had promised and they are doing what they can just to fulfill their promise to the students who voted them.
Our school is facilitated by a good administration. Our teachers are good and they are also kind to the students. Some of the teachers are easily irritated by students who are not following what they are saying then they will get mad to the students. Even if that is the attitude of some of the teachers in our school, I learn a lot from them. There are also many activities held in the school like outreach programs, acquaintance parties of the different clubs, culminating activities, intramurals, and the class teams.

Saint Louis University Centennial Celebration

This 2011, the Saint Louis University will celebrate its one hundredth year. According to the administration, the centennial celebration would be a year-long celebration. There are various preparations held for the opening or launching of the centennial celebration. One of it is the “Handog ng SLU sa Baguio” held last December 4, 2010 at the Melvin Jones. Students and Faculty and Staff of SLU, elementary, high school, and college, were present during that day.
Hearing that our school will celebrate its one hundredth year, it is so nice to part of it because this only happens once every one hundred years (that’s why it is called centennial right?), haha, just kidding. We, the students of Saint Louis University, must be proud of our school because we are one of the many students enrolled in the school that will be given the chance to celebrate this centennial event and maybe the next celebration would be celebrated by our great grandchildren. If I would think of a great gift to Saint Louis University on its centennial celebration, my gift would be my loyalty to this school. I am proud to be a student of this institution because Saint Louis University is one of the best schools here in Baguio City. This institution gives a higher standard in education and one of the top performing schools here in our city. Even though that there are some complains that the school has a high tuition fee, that high tuition fee is repaid by a good education that you will get.
We, the students of Saint Louis University, must be proud of saying “I am a Louisian” because it is a way that we are really loyal to our school and that we really are proud to be a student of this school.
The SLU is founded by CICM priests in the year 1911. It started with only below students and now is about a million students. May SLU have many more years to come.
